Adara is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, a Speech-Language Pathologist licensed in California and New York, is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and has completed Indie Birth’s Birth Warrior Project doula training. She attended 20 births in 2021 as a Golden Gate Doula.

Adara earned her Bachelor of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders at New York University. She is a graduate of the Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute’s Mary Rose Tully Training Initiative, and earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Adara completed her Clinical Fellowship in Speech-Language Pathology and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Adara has extensive inpatient and outpatient experience as both a lactation consultant and speech therapist, having worked at academic medical centers such as Stanford Children’s Health, the University of California Davis Medical Center, and Kaiser Permanente’s Oakland Medical Center. She is a certified instructor of the Hanen Centre’s More Than Words® , It Takes Two to Talk®, and TalkAbility™ programs for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and language delays.

Adara is an obessessive musical theatre fan and her happy place is at a piano bar. A student of Soul Fire Farm, she is healing from a generational history of land-based oppression and growing flowers. She lives in the Catskills with her partner Nile, their goofy pitbull Beansie, and their chickens.
