More Than Words® - The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children on the Autism Spectrum or with Social Communication Difficulties
If you have a young child on the autism spectrum or with social communication difficulties, you may be wondering what you can do to make communication easier for them. You may want to help them connect more easily with others, make friends and experience less frustration.
As a parent, there's so much you can do to help your child during the everyday routines and interactions you already have together. At a More Than Words program, you learn specific, research-based strategies to support your child's social communication and play skills, while also connecting and having more fun together.

The program includes:
8 training sessions in small, personalized groups
A Hanen Certified speech-language pathologist leading the program and guiding you every step of the way
A pre-program consultation for you and your child with your speech-language pathologist
Three individual visits for you and your child with your speech-language pathologist in which you are videotaped while practicing with your child. Then you and your speech-language pathologist watch the videotaped interaction to “see” what’s helping and what you can modify to help even more
It Takes Two to Talk® — The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children with Language Delays
The It Takes Two to Talk Program is designed specifically for parents of young children (birth to 5 years of age) who have been identified as having a language delay. In a small, personalized group setting, parents learn practical strategies to help their children learn language naturally throughout their day together.
Adara offers this program virtually.
The program includes:
An orientation session in which you'll learn about the program and what to expect
A pre-program consultation for you and your child with the Hanen speech-language pathologist
Eight interesting and interactive small group sessions, led by the Hanen speech-language pathologist. In these sessions, you learn about communication and language development, as well as how to use the program strategies.
Three individual visits for you and your child with the speech-language pathologist that include a video recording of you and your child interacting together, followed by discussion with, and feedback from, the Hanen SLP.
TalkAbility® — The Hanen Program® for Parents of Verbal Children on the Autism Spectrum
The TalkAbility™ program is designed for parents of children ages 4-8 on the autism spectrum or who have social communication difficulties. The program makes the most of your child's unique strengths and preferences, as well as their natural day-to-day activities, to help them find more joy and connection in their interactions and to foster mutual understanding between your child and the important people in their life.

A pre-program consultation for you and your child with the Hanen speech-language pathologist.
8 practical and interactive classes for small groups of parents.
Individual video feedback sessions of you interacting with your child, followed by reflection and discussion on what is helping and what else you could do.
